Instructions:

Copy the following in your notebooks and works the pages  43, 44, 45, 46,  

TELLING TIME

1.  To talk about time.  Use verb to be in singular.

            It’s five o’clock

            It’s six o’clock

2.  For the first half hour, use past or after:

            2:15   =  It’s a quarter;   or It’s  fifteen past /after two

3.  For the second half hour.  Use to and say how many minutes are needed to reach the following hour.

 

            2:45 = It’s a quarter to three.

            It’s fifteen minutes to three. 

CLOCK TIMES 

Express the time

1.  We can express the time in different ways

            2:15  =  It’s two fifteen or It’s a quarter past two

            8:35  =  It’s eight thirty five   or   It’s twenty – five to nine

2.  When we say 12  A.M.   It’s noon or midnight.

3.  When we say 12 P.M.  It’s midday.

4.  A.M.  =  morning (before noon)

     P:M.  =  after noon (between noon and midnight)
